A family at the Iowa Speedway

1. The Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend consists of three races: two by NTT INDYCAR SERIES and one by INDY NXT. Kids of all ages enjoy pre-race activities which start an hour before the race. You should plan for at least 30 minutes to get through the gate and to your seat, outside of walking time from your car and inside the facility. The Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend schedule can be found here.

2. Expect big crowds! The Sukup INDYCAR Race Weekend welcomes thousands of spectators across the three days. Make sure to keep an eye on your family and do not let children wander on their own.

3. Stay hydrated! Race days are known for being long and hot, combat this by drinking a lot of water. Cooling stations and water refill stations are available on site. You are welcome to bring your own coolers to the track. You can find cooler and gate regulations here.

4. Outside food and beverages are not allowed apart from unopened water bottles containing only water. Each guest is allowed to bring one soft-sided cooler no larger than 14" x 14" x 14". You can find cooler and gate regulations here.

5. Sunscreen is a must during a long day in the sun. Save yourself from potential sunburn. Spectators are allowed to bring in sunscreen into Iowa Speedway.

6. Protect your ears! NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone cars are loud. Professionals recommend fans of all ages wear hearing protection during the Indianapolis 500. You can bring your own ear protection, but it is also available to rent or buy at the track.

7. Scope out the map. Iowa Speedway is a large venue so plan where you will be parking, locate where you will be watching the race and what gate you will be entering through. View Facility Map

It is recommended that any strollers/wagons brought inside the venue be collapsible. Strollers/wagons are NOT allowed in the Iowa Speedway grandstands. There is a designated storage area under each grandstand.

12. Before arriving at Iowa Speedway, we recommend you make a designated meeting point for everyone in your group, both inside and outside the speedway to help with safety and allow you to move around the complex with more ease.
